Support And Hope

SUPPORT AND HOPE: Empowering South Asian Families and Carers

The SUPPORT AND HOPE project, a collaboration between the Multicultural Resource Centre and Autism Family Support, provides vital services to South Asian families and carers with children on the autism spectrum and those with learning disabilities.

The project offers practical solutions delivered by project workers, session workers, and volunteers. These services include a variety of activities such as holiday playschemes, educational trips, health and awareness sessions, and arts and crafts. Through workshops, carers’ information sessions, and community discussions, SUPPORT AND HOPE empowers both children and carers to enhance their quality of life.

Additionally, the project raises awareness within South Asian communities about autism and learning disabilities, offering a safe, stimulating environment where families can thrive. It also provides advice and information on health, social well-being, respite, and referrals to relevant services.

The goal of SUPPORT AND HOPE is to foster understanding, create inclusive opportunities for engagement, and ensure children and carers can access appropriately designed community-based activities.
