Well-Being Monday Project

Well-Being Monday Project

The Well-being Monday Project was designed to enhance the emotional well-being of the Rochdale community, delivered over 20 weeks in two local community centres. Sessions were led by a session worker and supported by three dedicated volunteers, using the 5 Ways of Well-being model with a focus on ‘Notice, Connect, and Learn.’ Each group of 12 participants engaged in 4-week sessions, ensuring a supportive and safe environment that adhered to social distancing regulations.

A total of 63 participants attended 2-hour sessions, where they explored the 5 Ways to Wellbeing. Volunteers distributed ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ cards, encouraging participants to define each theme. A video presentation was followed by interactive discussions, with participants writing down examples for each wellbeing theme.

In Tameside and Oldham, due to restrictions, activities were adapted for virtual delivery via Zoom and Teams, engaging an additional 30 participants.

We developed 100 resource packs that included:

  • Audio CDs: Self Help for Depression, Low Mood, Stress, and Anxiety (English, Urdu, and Bangla)
  • 5 Ways of Wellbeing A4 prints (Gujarati, Urdu, English, and Bangla)

This initiative empowered participants with practical tools to improve their wellbeing during the pandemic.
